Today is “World Toilet Day.” So, Happy World Toilet Day!

Sorry I didn’t write earlier in the week. I’ve been quite sick with the flu, but I think I’m better now. I can’t be too sure.

Last week and this week have been rather uneventful. Timmy’s talking up a storm. It’s a new word a minute, practically. I think I’m bias, but my favorite is when he says, “Love you, Daddy.”

Carol Anne’s been able to do this “secret shopper-thing.” We get to go out for one dinner and one lunch per month at an assigned restaurant and basically review the service, food, etc. and the secret shopping company reimburses us for most of the meal. This month’s assignment was Buffalo’s Southwest Café. I think we gave it two thumbs up. I haven’t seen Carol Anne’s final report yet, though.

Some of you may or may not know that Carol Anne and I are in the process of trying to sell our house and move. We figure it’ll take a while. Times are tough, but we’ve been through much worse, so, not to worry. Mostly, we’re not happy with the location. My car’s been broken into twice and a 50 lbs. pumpkin was stolen right off our front porch! We can do much better.

My Mom sent me the following blurb about one night out on their trip to Savannah, GA. I thought it was funny. Goes to show you that we get old before we know it.

“I don’t know if Dad told you about the show we saw in Savannah. It was called ‘Lost in the Fifties.’ There was a lot of gray hair in the audience. The guy sitting near Dad was wearing oxygen. When they told everyone to stand and twist to a Chuck Berry song, a lot of folks tripped over their walkers. ‘Lost in the Fifties?’ Heck, people got lost trying to get back to their seats after intermission. Guess we’re getting old. Love, Mom”

The band will be going on an East Coast tour here pretty soon. We’ll be performing in VA, NJ twice, again in VA, SC and then FL at Walt Disney World for three nights. It will be a week straight of performances with one day off in the middle. Other good news found us being sponsored on our return to the big college conference in Atlanta in March. That’s very good news because the conference costs a ton of money.

That’s all for now. Don’t forget to check out Carol Anne’s website! www.sharethenews.org

Love,

Jeff

Crazy week! Having said that, I can’t think of any weeks that Carol Anne and I have that aren’t crazy!

The week began with Roto-Rooter. Our guest bathroom’s toilet had been not flushing for a couple weeks. After trying everything we could, we sucked it up and called Roto-Rooter. After removing the entire toilet from the bathroom and snaking the toilet from the opposite end, we discovered Timmy unknowingly flushed a 2″ pink, rubber ball down the toilet. I should have known all along, because he kept pointing to the toilet all week saying, “Ball!” I told the Roto-Rooter guy that he must see all kinds of crap (no pun intended) on the job. He said that the day before he had to fish out a little girl’s make-up kit from an apartment building.

My Mom and Dad got to go to Savannah, GA for a couple days. My mom had a nursing seminar down there. Dad said they had a good time. I’m sure my brothers had a few wild parties involving farm animals while they were gone.

Carol Anne and I got to go on a date Thursday night! First one in quite some time. We ate at an Italian Restaurant and caught an early showing of The Matrix: Revolutions. Timmy got to spend the evening with his Aunt “Stinky.”

Saturday was Hope’s 16th birthday. So Carol Anne, Vicki, Timmy and I headed to Hope and Gary’s on Sunday. Carol Anne and Vicki made Hope her favorite shrimp dinner and appetizers. Carol Anne also made a chocolate turtle cheesecake. Timmy ate jelly beans and crackers for dinner.

Carol Anne wrapped up a logo design at her new job. It looks really good. I’ve attached it. I’m so proud of her. She’s also got her very own website, now. She just started it, but it’s already looking good. It’s www.sharethenews.org.

That’s all folks!

XO

Halloween

Gary does this throughout the week and I love it. So, I’m going to rip off his idea and start doing this more often.

It was a crazy weekend. It started when Timmy got a backpack of his very own and a new Dora doll from my Mom and Dad for Halloween. Then Carol Anne and Timmy went to Salisbury to Gary and Hope’s new house. Their new church hosts “Trunk or Treat.” Apparently all the folks from the church fill their car trunks with candy and decorate their cars and let the kids go trick or treating from trunk to trunk. It’s great for crazy kids like Timmy who have the attention span of a flea! Timmy went as a Hobbit, from Lord of the Rings. I think Gary went as a mean Father-in-Law and Hope went as the loving wife of a mean Father-in-Law. ; ) HeHeHe!

The next day Carol Anne and Hope took Timmy to the Asheboro Zoo for the first time. He was kind of tired and cranky, but they had a great time. A gorilla was kind enough to give them an “interesting” show. I was lucky enough to catch a call from them on their way back from the zoo.

I had to perform two Halloween shows with the band. One in Richmond, VA on Friday and the next night was for a Private Party in Valdese, NC. I shaved my head and went as Dr. Evil from Austin Powers. Nothing terribly exciting happened. Same show, different costumes!

I’ll send pics as soon as possible.

Have a great week.

I love you all,

Jeff

Knowing is Half the Battle

Did you know Scott Jeffrey’s Band bassist Micah Davidson, guitarist Tony Eltora and I are all from Virginia? Did you know that the name of the band is Scott Jeffrey’s Band, my name is Jeffrey Scott, frequent special guest saxist Scott McCloud is Scott Timothy and my son’s name is Timothy? Did you know Tony has a brother named Jeff? Did you know Scott Jeffrey’s Band drummers Rick Cline and Daniel Flynn both have significant others named Somer/Summer? Did you know former Scott Jeffrey’s Band drummer Darrin Harwell’s father and my father are the exact same age and were born on the exact same day? Did you know “Northern Accent” was partially tracked at a renovated Catholic church I once attended? Did you know special guest percussionists Phill Kirby and Rick Cline were both music majors at Lenoir-Rhyne College together? Did you know Rick unknowingly played kit and percussion in the pit of a variety of musicals I headlined long before launching Scott Jeffrey’s Band? Did you know my wife and Rick’s wife ironically are from the same area, same high school, are of the same age, attended Girl Scouts together and are the same age difference between Rick and me? Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
